Upper Dolpo trekking leads us to the remote and extreme land of Dolpo districts. The trekking to this region will enable its trekkers to view the best view of the remote place along with the great view of mountains and villages of the region. While trekking through this region, we will pass several villages and several dense forest areas. The trekking region is beautiful but we have to be very careful while trekking at this risky trekking region. Due to its risky trekking region, many few trekkers used to visit here. The trekking route will leads us to the hidden and unexplored land of the upper Dolpo region. The trekking to this region begins from Kathmandu with a flight over to Nepalgunj. Then the trail will pass through the beautiful but extreme region viewing the best scene of the surrounding. The trekking to this region will be suitable during summer because during winter the almost parts of this region is covered by snow.
Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu
Your flight will be landed at the international airport of Nepal. A representative of Guide-Nepal will be there to welcome you with the warm greetings and then we will be guided towards the hotel room of Kathmandu. The night will be at Kathmandu discussing about the trekking along with the crew members.
Day 02: Kathmandu to Nepalgunj and to Juphal
We will enjoy the best breakfast at the hotel of Kathmandu with friends and will move towards the airport to catch the flight over to Nepalgunj. The flight goes for about 35 minutes. We will continue to fly over to Juphal after spending some time at Nepalgunj. We will stay the night at Jhuphal to arrange our packages for the trekking.
Day 03: Juphal to Chhepka
From Juphal, we will descend through the trail alongside cultivated farms to Thuli Bheri. After crossing the suspension bridge, we will enter into the Shey Phoksundo national park. Following the beautiful path will leads us to the region of Chhepka to the altitude of 2838m.
Day 04: Trek to Palam
From Chhepka, we will continue to travel through the beautiful forest and through the river. The trail is ups and downs. We can see many people while trekking at this region. We will trek for about 6 to 7 hours which will help us to attain the height of 3820m.
Day 05: Palam to Phoksundo Lake
We will take an increasing trail to go towards the beautiful region of Phoksundo Lake which goes for about 4 to 5 hours. The trekking to this region will make our mood fresh with the presence of good and fresh environment. We will establish a camp at the Phoksundo Lake to spend the night over there. The Phoksundo Lake is situated at the height of 3620m above sea level.
Day 06: Phoksundo Lake to Salla Ghari
The trekking route will leads us into the best and restricted area of upper Dolpo trekking region. We will enter the hidden valley exploring around the region. While trekking at this region, we will get the panoramic view of the mountain ranges. The trekking goes for about 5 to 6hours which will leads us to Salla Ghari at the height of 3640m above sea level.
Day 07: Salla Ghari to Lar Tsa
We will leave salla ghari and move towards the high rocky walls to the Lar Tsa. The trekking will require some acclimatization as we are trekking at the high altitude. The night will be at the tented camp of Lar Tsa. Lar Tsa is at the altitude of 4120m above sea level. The trekking goes for about 6 to 7 hours through walking.
Day 08: Trek to Shey Gompa
We will walk towards the Shey Gompa through the way. We need to pass several passes while trekking at this region. After walking for about 7 to 8 hours we will reach at Shey Gompa from Lar Tsa following the main trail. The night will be at Shey Gompa at the tented camp.
Day 09: Shey Gompa to Namjung
From Shey Gompa, we will continue to trek towards the Namjung. The trail passes through the pass of Shey la at 5000m. Then passing through the beautiful pass and through the pasturelands, we will reach at Namjung. Namjung is situated at the height of 4430m above sea level which will take about 6 to 7 hours walking.
Day 10: Trek to Saldang
From Namjung, we will trek towards the Saldang. We will trek along the forest. We will follow the main trail to reach to Saldang to the altitude of 4046m above sea level. The night will be at Saldang enjoying the surrounding area.
Day 11: Trek to Sibu
We will trek towards the beautiful region of Sibu leaving Saldang. While trekking at this region, we will view the best scene of the surrounding which is covered by stupas, chortens, Mani walls and many more beautiful things. We will trek along the village of Namdo to Khong Khola to set our camp at the Sibu at the altitude of 4000m.
Day 12: Trek to Jengla
We will follow the same trek to walk towards the Sibu. The tail will follow the line of river valley through the easy going way. The night will be delighted at the Jengla viewing the surrounding area from the height of 4480m. The trekking goes for about 4 to 5 hours.
Day 13: Trek to Tokyo gaon
Early morning, we will begin our trek following the trail to Tokyo gaon. We will cross the beautiful viewing pass of Jeng la at 4850m. The imitating view of the surrounding will encouraged us to rest for a while but we will move towards the unbroken path to Tokyo gaon crossing several passes along with some beautiful cultivated areas. The trek goes for about 6 to 7 hours.
Day 14: Trek to Dho Tarap
We will follow the main trail to reach to Dho Tarap. The trail is easy going as we can see many people travelling through this region. We will pass through the beautiful chortens and Mani walls. We will pass through the Buddhists community to Dho Tarap to stay the night at 4200m above sea level. The trekking goes for about 2 hours walking.
Day 15: Trek to Serkam
We will trek toward the main way to reach to Serkam. The route goes through the beautiful and narrow gorges viewing the goats, Yaks, sheep grazing at the pasture lands. We will walk for about 7 to 8 hours which will enables us to achieve the height of 3623ft. The night will be at Serkam.
Day 16: Trek to Tarakot
Leaving Serkam, we will return towards the Tarakot crossing the suspension bridges. The trekking route goes for about 5 hours through the main trail viewing the best scene of the surrounding. Tarakot is situated at the height of 2280m above sea level.
Day 17: Trek to Dunai
From Tarakot, we will trek towards the Dunai. The trekking route will welcomes us with the best view of the mountains. We will follow the Besisahar while trekking at this region. The night will be a Dunai after walking for about 5 hours. Dunai is at the altitude of 2109m above sea level. The night will be at tented camp of Dunai.
Day 18: Dunai to Juphal
From Dunai, we will trek towards the Jhuphal. The way goes through the flat surface in the initial stage and will goes steeper later of the day. We will trek for about 3 to 4 hours to reach to Juphal at the altitude of 2404m above sea level.
Day 19: Juphal to Nepalgunj and to Kathmandu
From Juphal, we will take the flight over to Nepalgunj. The flight goes for several minutes viewing the best scene from the height. We will land at Nepalgunj which will be our joining point of flight over to Kathmandu. From Nepalgunj, we will take the returning flight to Kathmandu which will enables us to return back to Kathmandu. The night will be at Kathmandu.
Day 20: Farewell
After completing our exhilarating trekking, we will do some shopping at the local market of Kathmandu. Then, we will arrange our Packages and will move towards the airport to catch the splendid flight over to our own destination. We will surely enjoy the farewell party organized by the Guide-Nepal. We will hope for your better further journey.
