Trip Overview

Lower Dolpo trekking region is one of the beautiful and extreme trekking region which will enables us to enter into the isolated and hidden valley. The trekking goes crossing three passes namely Kangmara La (5115m), Numa La (5159m) and Baga La (5190m). Lower Dolpo is the home of the popular and beautiful national park of Nepal i.e. Shey Phoksundo national park. The trekking route goes through the protected areas which will provide us the opportunity to view and observe the different types of animals and plants. Shey Phoksundo national park is rich in varieties of plants, animals and birds. The protected area is at the Karnali region of Nepal which is not visited by many trekkers. The trekking includes walking in the rough surface through the main trail. The trekking will enables us to view the close view of barren land of the Dolpo region. 
The trekking to this region starts from Kathmandu with the flight over to Nepalgunj and to Juphal and will continue to the high land following the same trail until we reach at the beautiful place of lower Dolpo region. The trekking will enables us to view the panoramic view of the Phoksundo Lake along with the Shey Phoksundo Lake. Guide-Nepal is arranging the trekking program at this area with the better provision of better guides and trekking equipments.

Detail Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu 
Your flight will be landed at the international airport of Nepal. A representative of Guide-Nepal will be there to welcome you with the warm greetings and then we will be guided towards the hotel room of Kathmandu. The night will be at Kathmandu discussing about the trekking along with the crew members.

Day 02: Kathmandu to Nepalgunj and to Juphal 
We will enjoy the best breakfast at the hotel of Kathmandu with friends and will move towards the airport to catch the flight over to Nepalgunj. The flight goes for about 35 minutes. We will continue to fly over to Juphal after spending some time at Nepalgunj. We will stay the night at Jhuphal to arrange our packages for the trekking.

Day 03: Trek to Dunai to Tarakot 
From Juphal, we will begin our trek earlier in the morning viewing the best scene of the surrounding. Walking for about 2 to 3 hours will lead us to the beautiful region of Dunai and will further continue towards the beautiful place of Tarakot. The trekking from Dunai to Tarakot takes for about 5 to 6 hours. The night will be at Tarakot at the altitude of 2543m.

Day 04: Tarakot to Laini 
From Tarakot, we will continue to walk towards Laini following the Tarap River. We will visit the famous Sandul Gompa and then continue towards the Laini. The night will be at Laini at the altitude of 3160m above sea level. The trekking goes for about 5 to 6 hours. The night will be spectacular at Laini.

Day 05: Laini to Nawarpani 
From Laini, we will continue to walk following the gorge of Tarap River and through the steep way to the top. We will trek until we reach to Nawarpani after walking for about 5 to 6 hours. The Nawarpani is at the altitude of 3545m above sea level.

Day 06: Nawarpani to Dho Tarap 
From Nawarpani, we will begin our trekking following the gradual way leading us to the confluence Tarap Chu and Lang khola. After walking for several hours through the narrow path of the gorge, we will enter into the forest of juniper and rhododendron. Walking for 3 more hours will enables us to reach at the Dho Tarap at the altitude of 4090m above sea level. The trekking goes for about 7 to 8 hours. The night will be at Dho Tarap.

Day 07: Dho Tarap to Numa la base camp 
From the Dho Tarap, we will make our journey towards the Numa la base camp. The region is completely different than the part of inner Dolpo. The trekking on this pleasant land surface will pleased us. We will trek for about 6 to 7 hours from Dho Tarap to Numa la base camp. The Numa la base camp is at the height of 4440m above sea level. The trekking goes for about 6 to 7 hours.

Day 08: Numa la base camp to Pelung Tang 
From the base camp of Numa la, we will trek towards the height of Numa la pass and viewing the glorious view of the surrounding from the height we will continue our trail following the same trail to Pelung Tang.  The Numa la pass is at the altitude of 5190m above sea level and the Pelung tang is at the altitude of 4465m.

Day 09: Pelung tang pass to Baga la and to Dajok Tang 
From the Pelung tang, we will continue to trek with the steep climb to reach at the top of Baga la at 5070m and viewing the panoramic view from the top, we will continue to walk towards the trail which will offers us the brilliant view of the Kanjirowa Himal. Trekking for about 6 hours will leads us to the Dajok tang at the height of 4080m, where we will set up our camp for the night.

Day 10: Trek to Ringmo 
We will take a short trek towards the beautiful pine forest early morning. The fresh breeze from the pine forest will surely mesmerizes us. We will continue to walk towards Ringmo which will takes about 3 to 4 hours. Ringmo is at the altitude of 3600m above sea level.

Day 11: Rest day at Ringmo and hike to Phoksundo Lake 
We will take a day as rest day at Ringmo to forget the tiredness that we have gain during the trek. We will have the close view of the surrounding in the morning and will hike towards the beautiful height to view around the Phoksundo Lake. We will surely enjoy the best view of the place while trekking at this region. The night will be aback to Ringmo.

Day 12: Ringmo to Shyanta 
From Ringmo, early morning, we will trek towards the beautiful down track to Chhepka. The trail will continue towards the villages and then a climbing way will leads us to the Shyanta at the height of 2520m. The trekking goes for about 5 to 6 hours. The night will be at Shyanta.

Day 13: Trek to Juphal 
From Shyanta, we will follow the way slightly sloping upwards. The trail passes through Sulighat to Juphal. We will pass through the forest of tall birch trees viewing the superb view of the surrounding. After walking for about 5 to 6 hours, we will be at Juphal to stay the night there.

Day 14: Juphal to Nepalgunj and to Kathmandu by flight 
From Juphal, we will take the flight over to Nepalgunj. The flight goes for several minutes viewing the best scene from the height. We will land at Nepalgunj which will be our joining point of flight over to Kathmandu. From Nepalgunj, we will take the returning flight to Kathmandu which will enables us to return back to Kathmandu. The night will be at Kathmandu. 

Day 15: Farewell 
After completing our exhilarating trekking, we will do some shopping at the local market of Kathmandu. Then, we will arrange our Packages and will move towards the airport to catch the splendid flight over to our own destination. We will surely enjoy the farewell party organized by the Guide-Nepal. We will hope for your better further journey.
